Privacy Policy

This policy covers the website at sitterrate.com (the “site”) and the iPhone app SitterRate: Babysitter Pay (the “app”). Both are built to work without collecting information about you.

The website

• Calculators run in your browser. The times, rates and amounts you enter are calculated on your device and are not sent to us or stored. “Copy summary” places text on your clipboard only when you tap it.
• No cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking. The site doesn’t set cookies and doesn’t load analytics, advertising or social-media scripts. Fonts are served from our own domain.
• Hosting. The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes technical request data, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, under Vercel’s privacy policy. We don’t use this data to identify or track visitors.
• Links. Links to the App Store and to the sources we cite take you to other sites, whose own privacy policies apply.

The app

Everything you enter stays in the app’s storage on your device:

• Sitters you save: a name, hourly rates and billing preferences. The app never asks for contact details.
• Sessions you save: dates, times, amounts, paid or unpaid status, and any note you add.
• Preferences: your last-used calculator inputs, the area you chose in the Rate Guide, and whether a live timer is running.

This information is not sent to us. Like other app data, it is included in your device backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup) according to your own device settings. The app does not sync records through iCloud.

The app has no account or sign-in; no analytics, advertising, tracking or third-party SDKs; and no access to your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone. We do not sell or share data.

The app connects to the internet only when:

• You buy or restore Pro. The app talks to Apple’s App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your payment details. Apple’s privacy policy applies to that transaction.
• You open a link. Source links in the Rate Guide and links in Settings open in Safari. Rate Guide data is bundled in the app, so looking up rates sends nothing.
• You email us. Request a Feature and Contact Support open an email in your mail app, pre-filled with the app version, iOS version and device type. You can edit or remove these before sending.

When you share a summary or export a PDF, it goes only where you choose to send it. Delete individual sessions or sitters in the app, or delete the app to remove all of its data from your device; copies in existing backups follow your backup settings.

When you contact us

If you email or call us, we receive your email address or phone number and your message, and use them only to reply. We don’t add you to any mailing list.

Children

The site and the app are intended for adults arranging or providing childcare. They don’t knowingly collect personal information from children, and names entered in the app stay on the device.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
